Debaguru Brihaspati or Jupiter is the dhanabhava karaka. So location of Jupiter in natal chart can not easily create any distress condition.
Location of the planet in 2nd house and the positional strength of 2nd house lord may be assessed to have accuracy.
According to traditional and western astrology devaguru Brihaspati or Jupiter is dhanabhava karaka or lord of finance and financial development for the native. It will take place only when Jupiter, or 2nd house lord or the posited planet in 2nd house period run, in vimshottari Dasa system.
Western astrological schools are of the opinion that movement of Saturn and Jupiter in a Rasi chart is to be observed for getting benevolent and malefic effect as the case may be.
It is a fundamental point to realize that money is essential for every family for their survival in well condition. If a man/woman earns any amount right now, he/she will always have an effort to get well remuneration for their betterment and future perspective. Earned money is realized from eleventh house from Rasi/Lagna.
Like 2nd house (general finance), 11th house lord position of planets in eleventh house. It is mentioned in old texts and authentic books that the planet whoever may be posited in 11th house will give money at any cost. Meanwhile it is cited that the vimshottari main/sub/sub-sub period will not be good because of research made by pundits and erudite persons of old days.
It is noticed that while persons get multifarious money with struggle or good luck, they maintain sufficient balance for the future. Due to ill fate, demise all of a sudden terminate the longevity of the person. The person who will inherit they may be honest or dishonest.
If he is honest he may utilize the entire money in good means left by his ancestor. Misuse of money may take place by means of race, enjoyment, drinks etc. if the planets are afflicted in the Rasi chart of the native.
In practical life, it is observed that man/woman is always crazy for having more money, but in fact when man/woman comes to this universe, neither he/she is coming with money nor he/she is leaving the world with the money. But as long as they will survive in the world they will be behind money. So for survival monetary support is required as much as the reason may be in need.
Due to evil planetary effect in the place of Finance, person may be induced to earn money by means of malefic means. If any aspect of benevolent planet is noticed, the malefic influence of the planet posited therein can be removed or minimized according to its strength.
Sometimes, in spite of having huge money person can not get the scope to enjoy the same due to multifarious reasons. So, in fine, it may be pointed out that luck is also a vital factor both for having monetary benefit and financial enjoyment in the routine life.
Finance and Fortune
Ascertain whether Lagna is stronger or the Moon sign, as the stronger of the two is to be taken as the first house and then alone, one is to examine the horoscope for various matters.
The Ascendant is in Leo and in Lagna Bhava (i.e. First house) Saturn is posited. So it is weak. But when we take Moon sign, it is Aries, and Kethu is in close conjunction with Moon. It is weaker still.
When a doubt arises, find out on which day and in which star the birth took place. As they are the ruling planet, they will strengthen either Lagna or Moon sign by occupying the Lagna or conjoined with Moon or by aspecting either the ascendant or the Moon sign.
Saturn, lord of Saturday- the day of birth is a ruling planet. It is Lagna and confirms that the native is a Saturnian. Mars, lord of the Moon sign, Aries, aspects Aries and strengthens the Moon sign.
When again there is a doubt, without any hesitation, consider the ruling planets at the time of the query “whether Lagna is strong or Moon sign is strong” is taken for consideration. When I have taken this chart for offering prediction the star at the time was Utharashada and the day was Thursday. Hence Jupiter, Saturn and Sun were the ruling planets. Jupiter ruled the day. Sun governed the star and Saturn owned the Rasi.
Mars has nothing to do with this time. Hence, one is to reject the moon sign under the reign of Mars, but consider the Lagna Leo is the stronger of the two.
Finance. Second house indicates bank position and self-acquisition.
Six house denotes one’s personal exertion, labour, work and thereby earning money.
Tenth house shows one’s profession either in service or in independent business as well as one’s inheritance.
Sun is the chief governor for profession. Jupiter indicates the bank position: Fortuna portrays how one will be fortunate.
(Always take the Bhava- (house) and not the signs to find out results as each house signifies certain matters).
No planet is in the second, or the 6th, or the 10th house. But Fortuna is in the 10th sign and 9th Bhava.
As Fortuna gives fortune to one in the period of the lord of the sign in which it was posited, and as it represents the lord of the sign, Fortuna is to give the results of Venus who rules the meridian, the 10th Cusp. Fortuna was 9°6′ in Taurus.
So according to Krishnamurthi Paddhathi, Fortuna was in Venus sign, Taurus, and in the constellation of Sun and sub of Venus. Therefore during the conjoined periods and sub periods of Sun and Venus, you will be fortunate. (Actually you took up service only in Sun Dasa, Venus Bhukti).
Mercury rules the second house. Its stars are Ashlesha, Jyestha and Revathi. Sun alone was in Ashlesha star. Sun in Cancer, in the 12th house in Mercury’s star, indicates that you will have security of service, permanency, mostly service under Government in a place, far away from your native place. It is in a movable sign.
Therefore, there will be change in the department and in the nature of work during the periods and sub periods of Sun. From one institution to another, you will be transferred with lien in the previous department or completely severing connection with the previous job.
Also, Sun indicates that it will end your educational career and offer official life. (Why? 4th house is for regular course of study when one is to attend the class, hear the lectures and sit for examination 9th house is for PhD, Higher education, etc. For people born in Cancer-Kataka, 4th house is Libra-Thulam.
So the duration of study and the end of the college course is to be judged by taking Libra as the Lagna for education. It is known that Bhadhakasthana Adhipathi and Maraka Sthana Adhipathi end the life; so also, they end one’s study: Bhadhakasthana to Libra, a movable sign is the 11th sign, i.e. Leo. Its lord is Sun: Ashtamadhipathi is Venus and Maraka Sthanadhipathi is Mars.
Kethu in Mars sign is stronger than Venus. Hence, Sun, Kethu and Rahu are evil for one’s College course. Actually, the native attended the College till the Sun Dasa, Kethu Bhukti, Rahu Anthara, appeared for B. Com and failed).
During Sun Dasa, Venus Bhukti, Jupiter Anthara in the end of December 1941, when Sun transited in Poorvashada star (governed by Venus in Jupiter’s sign) you joined a Bank.

Again during Moon Dasa, Mars Bhukti, Sun Anthara, you left service in the Bank and joined Government service in the Revenue Department.
During Moon Dasa, Sun Bhukti you were promoted as Class I Officer with a change in the place. Thus Sun had been uniformly doing good to you, in service.
Again, when you run Rahu Dasa, Sun Bhukti, Jupiter Anthara, in the middle of March 1974, you can expect a higher rank with confidence. There will be increase in income and improvement in status.
Let us take the 6th house. As Leo is the ascendant, 6th house is Capricorn. Its lord is Saturn. Pushyam, Anuradha and Uthrapadrapadha are the three stars governed by Saturn. Mercury is the only planet occupying Pushya. Hence, Mercury indicates that:
- you will be inspecting the accounts submitted by others or carrying out the instructions of other officials;
- as it is in a movable sign, there will be transfers and changes; as the sub occupied by it, is ruled by Mercury, there is no modification in its results.
- Mercury will give you long journey including overseas; and
- You may have to serve in International trade or foreign exchange or in exports and imports.
This journey will come during Rahu Dasa Mercury Bhukti as Rahu was in the 3rd house, in its own star and in the sub of Moon-a watery planet-owning 12th house (life in a foreign place): Rahu also receives aspect from Moon.
You will surely go overseas in connection with your profession. At that time as per transit, Sun will be in Gemini ruled by Mercury, in Arudhra star governed by Rahu and in the sub of Mercury: Jupiter also will be transiting in the same position and conjoined with Sun: (The General rule is that a person has his desires fulfilled when Jupiter transits in the sign owned by Dasanatha. But the editor has found that Jupiter, Sun, Moon and the significators will transit in the stars governed by both Dasanatha and Bhuktinatha.
This finding is 100% correct. Students are requested to flow this method and scholars may investigate, do research and confirm this finding. It is true in all cases. On various occasions, to find out the time of event, our sages have suggested to note the time when the significator, e.g.
Venus or Sun or Jupiter transits in a sign owned by Dasanatha. The sign is the Solar mansion. The Nakshatra is the Lunar mansion. The editor’s finding is that the time of event comes correctly only when the significator is in the constellation, i.e., Nakshatra or Lunar mansion, belonging to either Dasanatha or Bhuktinatha or Antranatha.
Saturn, as lord of 6, in the ascendant in the sign owned by Sun, in the constellation of lord of 10 Venus and in the sub of Rahu who is an agent of Venus, indicates that you will be holding a position of trust and that you have to keep secrets. You will work in a department where the official matters are to be kept in strict confidence and should not be disclosed.
Therefore, during the period of Saturn, you will be entrusted with such a work. You may be asked to unearth some facts which were unaccounted, but possessed by the parties. Saturn was in the constellation of Venus, lord of 10, you will be crowned with success in your efforts.
Not only will you be able to do your job most satisfactorily but it will also be recognized and you will have an outstanding confidential report during Saturn’s sub periods. When you were running Rahu Dasa Jupiter

(Generally 10th house is termed as Karmasthana: it includes doing the last rites to father and mother, to do religious functions, Yagnas, etc., and to work and make money.
That is why, those who enjoy promotion during the period of lord of 10, also lose either of the elders. 10th house is the second to the 9th denoting father and the seventh to the 4th indicating mother 2 and 7 are Maraka Sthanas. Hence death of either of the parents and promotion in service come together.
It is worthy of note that your father passed away immediately after Saturn Bhukti started, as it was in the constellation of lord of 10. Since 9th house indicates father, and your birth was in Leo, Aries is the 9th house and Saturn is the Bhadhaga Sthanadhipathi to Aries.
Hence, Saturn affected the longevity of your father, in Uthrashada star when Moon transited in Saturn’s sign and in the constellation of the chief governor for father – Sun. Also Saturn transited in Sathabhisha star in Saturn’s sign and Rahu’s star.
When you are running Rahu Dasa Saturn Bhukti, you will realize those results which are indicated by the planets in your birth-chart, when they transit in the star of Rahu in Saturn’s sign, i.e. Sathabhisha. This is an important ruling of the editor. If the Bhukti is ruled by Mercury, the significator is to transit in Mercury’s sign and Rahu’s star Arudhra; if the sub period is ruled by Venus, the significators have to transit in Rahu’s star Swathi in Venus sign-Libra).
The 10th house is Taurus. It is ruled by Venus. No planet occupies Taurus. Therefore consider Venus and planets occupying Venus star – Bharani, Poorvapalguni and Poorvashada are the three stars under the reign of Venus.
Moon and Kethu were in the Star Bharani: Saturn was in Poorvapalguni. No planet was in Poorvashada star. Hence Saturn, Moon and Kethu are under the sway of Venus and whatever Venus is to offer, they will be given even during the periods of Moon, Kethu and Saturn.
Moon indicates changes, transfers and life in a far-off place. Kethu shows a thorough change. Saturn offers responsible position.
Venus owns two houses, Taurus and Libra. Taurus is the 10th house. As Venus owns it, find out whether Rahu or Kethu occupies either Taurus or Libra. Then the node is stronger than Venus.
As Rahu was in Libra, at the time of your birth, Rahu will prove to be fortunate. Actually, you had a good lift, when Rahu Bhukti, Rahu Anthara was operating: Swathi was the Nakshatra on that day.
Jupiter, the chief governor for finance, is conjoined with Venus. Jupiter will be favourable to you. As it was in Kethu’s star Makam, and Kethu was in the 9th house, during Jupiter sub period, you will be transferred to the north-east; you will be taken to the administrative department and will become very popular.
Actually, you were transferred to the administrative head office, in a town north-east of the place where you were, and you became popular. The officials the colleagues and all those with whom you have to come in contact, will speak highly of you for your straightforward, honest and fair dealings. Integrity and sincerity stand to your credit. Thus it will be seen that:
- Rahu is the strongest benefic;
- Mercury gives you good opportunity to show you talent during inspection;
- Mars adds authority and power;
- Venus bestows on you social and financial success;
- Sun offers you a permanent position under the Government;
- Jupiter increases your income, changes the residence, and office and improves your status. It gives you service in the Revenue department.
- Moon indicates fortune in a foreign place, and so on.
Determination of Financial Prospects
Today the most important factor in the material world is wealth. The old adage, “health is wealth” has been replaced by the new one “wealth is health”.
I am giving a new method for determining one’s financial prospects. I have tried this method on a good number of horoscope and have found it of yield satisfactory results. There are following Kalas (rays) to the seven planets:
In his own words: “Take the lords of the 9th from Lagna (Ascendant) and the Moon and the root numbers of these planets. Divide the total by 2. The remainder, counted from Chandra Lagna (the Moon sign or radical Moon) goes under the name of special Chandra Lagna which for purposes of convenience we shall term as Dhana Lagna. If a number of benefics occupy Dhana Lagna the person will earn immense wealth.
If there is only one benefic unaspected by other benefics or malefics. even then the subject becomes highly rich. If Dhana Lagna is occupied by pure malefics such as the Sun, Mars or Saturn, the person will have moderate wealth. If the malefic planet is in exaltation, the wealth will merely be not moderate in the beginning, but considerable later on it life.
If the Dhana Lagna has a benefic and a malefic then also the person will be able to command a lot of wealth. The same rule applies in the case of aspects. Planets situated in this Dhana Lagna or aspecting it or situated in angles or trines from it will also give wealth in the course of their Dasas or Bhuktis, while those situated in the 3rd, the 6th, the 8th or the 12th from this special Dhana Lagna will destroy wealth and give unnecessary expenses and losses.”
Let us now test the validity of the above methods by applying them to some horoscopes.
In the Chart No 2, 9th from Lagna is Aquarius and from Chandra Lagna the 9th falls in Cancer. The lords of these houses are Saturn and the Moon respectively. Adding the kalas of Moon & Saturn i.e. 16 & 1, we get 17 divided by 2 we get 1 as reminder. Counting 1 from Chandra Lagna it self gives, Scorpio.
Scorpio occupied by debilitated Moon should have given him moderate wealth, but the Dhan lagna i.e. Scorpio is being aspected by Sun, Mercury & Ketu. He started business in Mercury. Dasa Ketu Bhukti. That was the stepping stone to his career and now he is well-off in life. Ketu Dasa will bring him much wealth and luck.
The Dhana Lagna in Chart No. 3 falls in Taurus. Note Mars situated powerfully in the Dhana Lagna (being the 9th from Lagna) in association with the exalted Moon. But the Moon does not possess full strength as he happen to be a week Moon. A pure malefic Saturn is aspecting the Dhana Lagna from the 3rd.
These are indicative of wealth in Saturn Dasa which brought him sudden wealth and rise in profession even though there were some negative vibrations in the domestic sphere. Now he is running Mercury Dasa-Mercury Bhukti which has given him immense wealth. Mark the aspect of Saturn on Mercury who is in the 9th from the Dhana Lagna.
